| Product Applicability: | This certification is applicable to all LAN switches. It is an optional component of the 2003/2004 Switch Interoperability Study. |
| Testing Overview: | The two switches will be configured for 802.1p/Q. The Tolly Group will then generate a stream of 100 1,518-byte, VLAN tag and priority frames destined for the remote switches private network via Spirent Communications SmartBits. An Acterna Domino Fast Ethernet Internetwork in-line analyzer will be used to validate the state of the packet upon exiting the first switch for the destined remote network. The SmartBits will count all frames received maintaining the 802.1p/Q VLAN tags. The test will then be repeated running in the reverse direction initiating traffic from the original receiving network. |
