| Product Applicability: | This certification is applicable to all LAN switches. It is an optional component of the 2003/2004 Switch Interoperability Study. |
| Testing Overview: | The switches under test will be connected as described below. The Tolly Group will initiate a sequence of PINGs at one-second intervals and validate that both the request and response cross the same path. The Tolly Group will then power off the switch on that path and monitor the number of sequential PINGs lost before the network reconverges and the PINGs achieve success. The Tolly Group will record the reconvergence time in seconds as one more than the number of PINGs lost. (End stations will be configured for the same IP network.) |
